We’re so excited to announce that one stretch goal has been unlocked since last we updated you all!
UNLOCKED - $50,000 Playbook Revamp
The Scholar and the Vessel have been unlocked!
- Mercenary and knowledgeable, the Scholar traffics in magic items and supernatural artifacts, selling priceless wonders to his network of strange and wealthy mortals. The addition of the Scholar makes strange artifacts and tomes central to your story!
- Stubborn and inhuman, the Vessel struggles against the programming left inside them by their creator, working to earn the humanity others take for granted. The Vessel upends the normal corruption track, attempting instead to find redemption and become fully human
Backers at the All PDFs pledge level and higher receive a digital copy of both archetypes for free!

LOCKED - $60,000 Roll 20 Module
At $60,000, we’ll create a free Roll20 module for playing Urban Shadows 2E online! The module will include all the materials from the core game, including basic moves, playbooks, and GM materials!
LOCKED - $70,000 Journal Pack
At $70,000, we’ll create a journal pack. Five Urban Shadows 2E 6”x9” booklets with beautiful covers and blank interiors to track information on NPCs, schemes, debts, notes, and more will be yours! Each Journal Pack comes with five journals, each with 30 pages of blank space.

Urban Shadows 2E is fully funded at $10,000! That’s amazing! We’re so grateful for the excitement and support you’ve all shown us!
Urban Shadows has been a constant passion of ours for more than six years, from its earliest design in 2013 through the release of the physical book in 2015 and all the way through today thanks to our fans. After the first edition reached so many incredible GMs and players, we knew Urban Shadows could push urban political fantasy even further. And thanks to your incredible support, this innovative new edition is going to bring all new tools and ideas to a whole new audience of urban fantasy gamers.
Before We Began
Even before we launched, we unlocked a ton of pre-launch stretch goals! Here’s a quick recap:
- At 750 follows, we added a pack of five pairs of six-sided dice customized for Urban Shadows, including a pair of dice for each Circle (Mortalis, Night, Power, Wild) and a general Urban Shadows pair of dice! Backers at the Core + All Stretch Goals pledge level and up receive the Dice Pack for free!
- At 1000 follows, we added two limited edition playbooks from the original Urban Shadows: The Dragon and The Immortal! The Immortal takes a long view of politics, manipulating the city’s factions across decades, emerging only to see their efforts fulfilled. The Dragon is captivated by their past life, striving to discover the truth of their ancient origins and the lost broodmates who were reborn alongside them. Backers at the All PDFs pledge level and up receive a digital copy of both archetypes for free!

Visions of the Future
We’ve only begun to explore the city. There are numerous places of power we have yet to touch upon, but those brave enough to travel deeper into the shadows will find such treasures, alongside multiple stretch goals, eager to be discovered.
At $20,000, we will create a four-panel GM screen. Each panel will be roughly 8.5” x 11”, totallying 34” long! The GM facing side will contain useful tools, tables, and information to make running the game seamless. The player facing side features full color art from the book! All backers at Core + All Stretch Goals pledge level and up receive the GM screen for free!
At $30,000, we will revamp two evocative playbooks for 2nd Edition: the Anointed and The Revenant
- The Anointed, formally known as the Hallowed, is the wise and devout pastor of a religious flock, a group of mortals whose faith has driven them to seek guidance and solace from their chosen leader. They draw power from their following, but the Anointed must contend with the problems and issues their flock creates for them.
- Cold and mysterious, the Revenant has been given a chance to right the wrongs of their demise, brought back from the land of the dead to avenge their own murder. The mystery of their death—and the costs of revenge—play out as The Revenant carves a bloody path across the city, leaving only corruption in their wake

Finally, at $40,000, we’ll add a physical campaign notepad. You can use it to track how your city evolves during your campaign, helping you note the changes and evolution of each Circle and their places of power. The Campaign Notepad comes with 50 sheets tear off sheets where you can record player and Circle actions as they happen.

This is so incredible! In such a short time we’ve managed to obtain some of the deepest secrets of the city by unlocking three stretch goals. We never could have foreseen how much support you have given us!
With the greatest pleasure we announce that THREE stretch goals have been unlocked since last we updated you all.
UNLOCKED - $20,000 GM Screen
The GM screen is now unlocked! The GM screen is a physical reward, giving the GM all the tools they need to run the city and keep the characters’ lives interesting. All backers at Core + All Stretch Goals pledge level and up receive the physical GM screen!
UNLOCKED - $30,000 Playbook Revamp
The Anointed and the Revenant join the city as well. These revised playbooks will be released as PDFs, bringing with them new stories to your games. All backers at All PDFs pledge level and up receive these digital playbooks!

The Campaign Notepad has also been unlocked! The Notepad is suitable for keeping notes on your ever evolving urban landscape and the Circles within.
